An Integrative Medicine-trained internist with expertise in the mind-body connection in chronic pain and unexplained conditions. She joined AIM in 2018 as Medical Director and became Executive Director last year.
Dr. Kossoff graduated from George Washington School of Medicine in 1983 and has been practicing Internal Medicine for the underserved for the past 30 years. In October 2017 she completed a Fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. She went on to study hypnosis through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and become a licensed Acupuncturist through the Helms Medical Institute. Dr. Kossoff is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
While working with the underserved in the District, Dr. Kossoff cared for many people with chronic pain on opioid medications. Studying Integrative Medicine allowed her to dream of helping her patients cope with their pain by giving them alternative strategies that worked. Becoming the Medical Director of AIM is allowing her to realize that dream.
