Kami Veltri, Medical Student Representative

As a member of Students for a National Health Program (SNaHP), I firmly believe in health care as a human right.  Though it is not the case, I desire that no one should suffer due to a lack of equitably accessible, timely and safe, effective and efficient, individualized and compassionate care.  It excites me to represent the medical student community on AIM’s Board as we work to move beyond the limitations of our current model to see the whole—the whole person, community, and system at large—to create optimal healing environments for all.

Kami Veltri is MD student and  a founding Board Member of AIM Health and a medical student with an Integrative Medicine Scholarly Concentration at the George Washington University. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral and Integrative Neuroscience from the University of Florida before completing the Somos Hermanos Student Immersion Program in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. Kami served as the Student Director for the Leadership and Education Program for Students in Integrative Medicine, as well as the National Student Representative for both Physicians for Social Responsibility and the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health. She is passionate about health as a human right and enjoys her biweekly work at Unity’s Upper Cardozo Health Center, which serves the under and uninsured in her neighborhood, Columbia Heights.
