The Medical Director of the GW Center for Integrative Medicine and Founder of AIM Health Institute. Certified in Internal, Palliative, and Geriatric Medicine, he is dedicated to expanding access to holistic care and academic innovation at George Washington University.
Amy Kossoff - Medical Director

Dr. Amy Kossoff, Medical Director

An Integrative Medicine-trained internist with expertise in the mind-body connection in chronic pain and unexplained conditions. She joined AIM in 2018 as Medical Director and became Executive Director last year.
Elissa Parker - Board Chair

Elissa Parker, Board Chair

An environmental lawyer for nearly 50 years, represented the public in disputes and managed teams in government and nonprofit organizations. Since retiring, she has volunteered with various groups and joined the AIM Board in 2022, driven by her passion for integrative health.

Diana Myers, Board Chair Emeritas

A dedicated leader in international development, served as VP for International Programs at Save the Children/US, overseeing initiatives in 40 countries and contributing expertise to boards like Save the Children/Philippines and the Textile Society of America.

Lori Kaplan, Vice-Chair

Worked at the Latin American Youth Center in DC for 40 years, including 32 as Executive Director. Now a nonprofit consultant, she is a strong advocate for alternative medicine and serves as AIM’s Vice-Chair.

Steven Salky, Treasurer

An attorney and certified nurse assistant/ phlebotomist volunteering at Bread for the City clinic, he studies the mind-body connection in chronic pain. He joined AIM’s Board in 2022 and is its treasurer.

Board of Advisors

John Weeks

Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, has been a key figure in integrative health since 1983. He co-founded multiple organizations in the field and has consulted globally. He received honorary doctorates from four institutions and a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014.

Glenn Sabin

Director of FON Consulting, specializes in strategy for the integrative health sector, advising on health creation and profitability, and authored a memoir on his remission from cancer using natural methods.

Michelle Steinberg, MS

A nutritionist, herbalist, and documentary filmmaker, founded a bilingual holistic clinic for low-income communities and received an award for diversity, equity, and inclusion, with her latest film exploring immigrant health care experiences.

Dr. John Pan, MD

Founding Medical Director of GW’s Office of Integrative Medicine, pioneered the GW CIM in 1997 after 25 years in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Ron Boston, MS

A retired Air Force officer, he is an advisory board member of the AIM Health Institute, supporting access to complementary medicine inspired by his late wife’s work at the GW Center for Integrative Medicine.

Dr. Wayne Jonas, MD

A family physician and expert in integrative health, authored How Healing Works and previously served as CEO of Samueli Institute and Director of the NIH Office of Alternative Medicine.

Dr. Myles Spar, MD, MPH

Founder of Tack180, directs Integrative Medicine programs, consults for NBA teams, and advocates for underserved communities through his nonprofit, Integrative Medicine Access.

Dr. James Gordon, MD

Founder of The Center for Mind-Body Medicine and a Georgetown University Clinical Professor, is a pioneer in integrative medicine and the creator of a leading program for stress and trauma, with his latest book, Unstuck: Your Guide to the Seven-Stage Journey Out of Depression.

JD Talasek

Director of Cultural Programs at the National Academy of Sciences, is the creator of DASER, a faculty member at Johns Hopkins, and an advisor on art and science initiatives, including the Smithsonian’s Contemporary Art and Science Committee.

Director of the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Northwestern University since 2007, focuses on holistic patient care, education, and research. She co-created the “Cooking Up Health” elective, authored The Natural Menopause Solution, and serves on national integrative medicine committees, with interests in women’s health, food as medicine, and nature’s healing power.

Director of Integrative Medicine at Greater Lawrence Family Health Center, integrates allopathic and alternative medicine to serve underserved populations, creating innovative healthcare models and founding IM4US to expand access to integrative practices.

A women’s health nurse practitioner with over 30 years of experience, is a board-certified holistic nurse, integrative health coach, and President of Integrative Medicine for the Underserved (IM4US).

Dr. Eileen Yager, MD, FAAP

A Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Integrative Pain/Symptom Management Clinic at Children’s Hospital Colorado, specializes in integrative pediatrics and stress reduction techniques, with over 49 years of meditation practice.

Luann Jacobs, MA-CCC/SLP, RMT

A retired Speech-Language Pathologist and Reiki Master Teacher, founded Reiki/Biofeedback Services at the GW Center for Integrative Medicine and has pioneered the use of heart rate variability biofeedback to assess Reiki benefits.

Yael Flusberg, C-IAYT, E-RYT500, RMT, MS

A yoga therapist, writer, and coach who helps individuals build resilience and find healing through yoga and other practices, drawing on her extensive background in community development and social justice.

Dr. Andrew Weil, MD

A pioneer in integrative medicine and founder of the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine, is a best-selling author, clinician, and founder of multiple health initiatives, including the Weil Foundation and True Food Kitchen restaurants.

Angela Gabriel, L.Ac.

An acupuncturist at GW Center for Integrative Medicine, with advanced degrees in Biochemistry and Oriental Medicine, and experience in trauma-focused care and acupuncture research.

Seth Morrison

A retired consumer marketing executive and community activist, has served on various boards focused on HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ rights, Israel/Palestine peace, and local politics. He is a patient reviewer for the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) and advocates in PCORI research proposal development.

Randi Abramson, MD

Chief Medical Officer at Bread for the City since 1991, overseeing medical programs, volunteer recruitment, and clinic operations, while also serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor at George Washington University Medical Center and supporting integrative medicine initiatives like massage and acupuncture at the clinic.
